Why do I have to book a visit?
Logistically Santa has a finite amount of time to visit with each family. In other words, he can only visit with a limited amount of kids in a day.
In the old days people would line up for hours just to see Santa on a Saturday or Sunday. It was chaos. Parents were exhausted. Children were either bored or crying. Countless people took a look at the line and said, “nope, not today kids” and left. The problem: too many people and not enough Santa.
There must be a better way!
Great news! We've discovered a superior approach (and no, it doesn't involve having multiple Santas). Through years of experimentation, we've determined that the ideal duration for a relaxed visit and photo session with a single family is around 3 to 5 minutes. Additionally, if someone brings along all their cousins, they can book a bit of extra time too. In order to limit the amount of people we have implemented an easy to use online booking calendar. So now it’s easy to have the right amount of people at the right times. Kids actually end up getting more time with Santa because we aren’t rushing due to the overwhelming line up.
But why does it cost money?
Booking your spot incurs a cost to ensure commitment; otherwise, there's a likelihood of no-shows if there's no investment. Similarly, additional time comes with an extra charge for the same reason – if it were free, everyone would opt for extended time slots.
While our system isn't flawless, we're making improvements every year.
